Dr. Krasimir Shopov is a specialist surgeon in Sofia with over 20 years of experience. His interests are focused on conservative and surgical treatment of breast diseases. His priority is the early diagnosis of breast cancer and organ-preserving, oncoplastic and reconstructive surgeries.

Activity

  1. Early diagnosis by echomamography, and use of Doppler echomamography of the breast to refine lesions.
  2. Scheduled follow-up and planning of breast exams in women on an individual basis.
  3. Consultations with regard to the placement of breast implants and silicone prostheses during and after breast cancer surgery.
  4. If necessary, performing a CPR /TRU-CUT/ – biopsy of the breast and planning various surgeries, including reconstructive, according to the diagnostic and treatment program of the individual patient.
  5. Conduct a year-round program for breast cancer prevention and early detection of this socially significant disease.
  6. Establish a follow-up plan for patients with reminders of date and time of preventive examinations.
  7. Performing health surveillance and prevention of benign breast disease as well as breast cancer.
  8. Prepare risk assessments and work on prevention and risk reduction in workplaces for clients. Developing an individualized treatment and diagnostic plan.

Education
Graduated in medicine and obtained a specialty in General Surgery in 2002.

Qualifications
Specialization in Oncoplastic and Reconstructive Breast Surgery for Cancer in Hungary, Spain, Slovenia, Italy, as well as specialization in surgery in Hamelburg and laparoscopic surgery (bloodless operations) in Strasbourg and Hamburg;
Specialisations in upper and lower endoscopy (fibrogastroduodenoscopy and colonoscopy);
Certificates in breast ultrasonography and Doppler ultrasonography.
