Dr. Nikolay Kulvachev is a specialist in medical virology and microbiology with over 15 years of experience. His professional interests are in the field of emerging and newly emerging infectious diseases, viral hemorrhagic fevers, respiratory viral infections, COVID-19, viral immunopathogenesis, etc. Performs examinations and consultations related to sexually transmitted infections and HPVs, as well as HHVs express viral diagnosis, antiviral therapy, etc.
Education
Dr. Nikolay Kulvachev graduated from Medical University – Sofia in 2007. He defended his PhD in the field of arbovirusology and acquired the specialty of virology in 2013. He specialized in Germany and the USA. She participates in postgraduate courses for doctors and biologists. In 2017, she acquired her second specialty in microbiology.
Qualifications
Dr. Nikolay Kulvachev has more than 30 scientific publications, some of them published in international journals with impact factor, and his citations are more than 200. He has co-authored chapters in medical textbooks and manuals. He is a member of editorial boards of national scientific organizations and journals with international participation.
Biography
In the period 2008 – 2015, Dr. Nikolay Kulvachev worked at the National Center of Infectious and Parasitic Diseases. Since 2016 he has been teaching at the Department of Medical Microbiology at the Medical University – Sofia to Bulgarian and English-speaking students. She is the head of the K-Lab laboratory, founded in 2015. Currently she is also a part of the team of specialists of FemiClinic. She is fluent in English and Spanish.
